Welcome! I'm glad you made the choice to play this. First, Let's start with resources. In the bottom left, you should see an amounts tab, containing Wood, Stone & Food.
These are the heart of the game. Your goal is to get them as high as possible, with no end. Now, let's wait until you have 30 wood, stone, and food and then go to resources and purchase an axe, a pickaxe, and a spear. You started with one each, so you should now be getting 2 of each per second, split into 200ms gaps.
By the way, prestige is used as a term where you reset almost everything or everything, to gain a multiplier, helping you reach bigger numbers faster.
You need a total of 5000 of resources in this prestige to gain an unclaimed prestige point. After that goal if reached, the total of rescources goes back to 0, and the required amount increases by x1.25.
